Carl Bennett - President-Elect of JCOBA-NY

Carl Bennett is the new President-Elect of the Jamaica College Old Boys Association of New York (JCOBA-NY). Making the official announcement, at the Griffin Awards, current President Michael McDonald, remarked "It has been the honor of my life to serve as President of the Jamaica College Old Boys Association of New York. As my tenure draws nigh, I am elated to pass the baton into the more than capable hands of my good friend, Mr. Carl Bennett, our next President-Elect. Please join me in congratulating and supporting Carl as he leads the charge for the next few years."

With effusive enthusiasm, JCOBA-NY Advisory Board Chairman, Lowell Campbell commented, “The Jamaica College Old Boys Association of New York takes succession planning seriously. Carl, who has been in our leadership line of sight for quite some time, will bring his signature brand of energy and gravitas to the role of President. With Carl at the helm, building on the impeccable legacies of current president, Michael McDonald, past presidents: Dr. Dwight Williams and Don Jones, the leadership of the organization is in good hands.”

ABOUT CARL

Carl graduated from Jamaica College (JC) in 1986. While at JC, Carl excelled academically, with a focus on the Sciences and Business. He represented JC at cricket at all age groups – Under-13 (captain), Under-15 and Under-19 (Sunlight Cup), playing for all three teams simultaneously during one season. Carl was a prolific opening batsman and all-rounder on the junior teams and batted in the middle order on the senior (Sunlight) team, playing alongside future Jamaica and West Indies captain, Jimmy Adams. The senior team led by Adams would lift the Sunlight Cup Championship in the 1983 cricket season.

After JC, Carl pursued degrees in Economics and Business Administration and has worked in the financial services industry in various capacities for over 20 years. Currently, he is a distinguished finance executive at a leading Wall Street investment firm, where he executes the firm’s strategic priorities in delivering investor relations, financial management and analysis – central management accounting functions.
